A judge is denying a request for a new trial for a former police officer convicted in a deadly shooting in Palm Beach County. Former Palm Beach Gardens officer Nouman Raja was found guilty last month of manslaughter and attempted murder in the 2015 shooting death of Corey Jones. Raja had claimed he shot Jones in self-defense when Jones pulled a gun on him after his vehicle broke down on I-95. He faces up to life in prison at his sentencing scheduled for next week.
