Sir Richard Branson Unveils New Name Of MiamiCentral

Brightline's transformation into Virgin Trains took a big step forward Thursday when Sir Richard Branson unveiled the new name of the Central Station.

Now known as Virgin MiamiCentral, the long term vision for the station includes a connection with Tri-Rail and the possibility of building lines to PortMiami and MIA.

Sir Richard announced that Virgin Trains did secure funding this week to expand the rail line beyond West Palm Beach and all the way up to Orlando, a project that could take three-years to complete.

The company also says it's in talk with Walt Disney World to build a train station at their complex near Orlando.

Virgin has plans that could extend the train to Tampa, Jacksonville, and beyond Florida.
