Crooks are getting craftier and bolder by the minute attempting to pose as police over the phone.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a recent warning after receiving concern from citizens wondering if they owed money to the state.
According to the FDLE, scammers called people claiming to be law enforcement. They told residents if they didn't pay up a warrant for their arrest would be issued.
The FDLE wants anyone living in Florida to know their department would never call people in this way, and urge anyone who receives a similar phone call to contact them at (850) 410-7000.
