Garbage Dispute Leads to Deadly Shooting

A dispute between two South Florida roommates over missing trash resulted in a fatal shooting.

Alfredo Bless was arrested today on a second-degree murder charge. The 40-year-old is accused of killing Evan Schottenheimer after asking where his garbage was placed, according to the arrest report.

The victim's friend was also present during their argument and told police he tried to diffuse the disagreement. The unidentified witness said Bless yelled, "Oh, you want to talk s--- to me, mother---er?"

Schottenheimer returned to his room when he heard gunshots and ran out of the home to call 911.

Bless tried to claim he was trying to defend himself against the victim who was holding a knife. Detectives said surveillance video of the incident showed that Schottenheimer was several feet away when the fatal shot was fired.
