An officer has been relieved of duty after cellphone video of a woman violently brought to the ground by Miami-Dade Police went viral on social media.
“I find the actions depicted on the video deeply troubling and in no way reflective of our core values of integrity, respect, service and fairness," said Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez.
According to the arrest report, Loving was allegedly involved in a confrontation with Frank Tumm, her neighbor prior to the arrest.
Police say Loving and her friend Adrianna Green were walking by Tumm's home when called her Green a “whore.”
Green told police she grabbed a plant from Tumm’s yard and threw it at him. He responded by grabbing a shotgun pointing it at them threatening to shoot.
Dyma Loving was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer without violence, and spent 12 hours in jail before posting a bond of $1,500.
Frank Tumm was arrested March 14th and charged on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
