Trump just announced today all Boeing 737 Max 8 and 9 planes will be grounded in the U.S., calling this move "an emergency order of prohibition."
Wednesday's announcement follows other nations banning the MAX plane, including Canada’s decision after receiving data. Canadian officials abruptly grounded the 8 and 9 models from operating in their country’s airspace.
Aircraft tracking company Aireon said they provided the real-time satellite data, which shows activity when the plane is en-route, including the fluctuations in the vertical profile of the aircraft.
The same information was sent to U.S. authorities, including the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, on Monday.
