Florida Trooper Shoots and Kills Driver

A traffic stop turned deadly after a Florida Highway Patrol trooper shot and killed a driver at a Park and Ride station.

The fatal encounter happened at the Golden Glades Park & Ride location at northwest Miami-Dade County on Tuesday around 7:30 p.m.

According to The Florida Highway Patrol, the trooper was conducting a traffic stop inside the parking area when he and the driver got into "some kind of confrontation." The trooper then shot the driver, killing him.

The trooper and the driver of a white BMW have not been identified, it is also unclear if the driver was armed.

Investigator are currently reviewing the station's surveillance video.
