2 Broward Schools Locked Down Over Momo Challenge Threat

Boyd H. Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes and Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach were placed on lockdown Friday morning.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies quickly arrived to both campuses to investigate the social media threats causing concern for students. Both schools remained on lock down as of noon.

The so-called Momo challenge recently went viral causing outrage for targeting children. The person posing as the creepy character reaches out to a victim and encourages them to complete various tasks in order to avoid being cursed. The tasks include harming yourself, and victims are asked to provide photo evidence of each act completed to continue playing the game.

The game ends with Momo telling the victim to take their life while recording it for social media.
