Broward's School Boss Keeps His Job, Calls For Unity

Robert Runcie is keeping his job, despite heavy scrutiny since last year's Parkland shooting.

Broward's schools superintendent survived an attempt to remove him from the position yesterday.

After nearly seven hours of debate, six of nine school board members voted in his favor.

Board member Lori Alhadeff, whose daughter was killed in the shooting, was among those voting against him.

Runcie thanked the board for its support, and he said now is the time to come together as a community to ensure all schools are safe.

He says he looks forward to partnering with Alhadeff to move the district forward.
