Testimony in Ex-Officer's Trial Drawing to a Close

The defense is expected to rest its case today in the trial of former Palm Beach Gardens police officer Nouman Raja.

An assistant medical examiner testified for the prosecution on Monday, refuting Raja's claim that he shot and killed Corey Jones in self-defense.

In 2015, Raja was working undercover when he approached Jones's broken down car on an I-95 off-ramp.

Raja says Jones pulled a gun and he fired in fear for his life, killing the drummer.

A police psychologist testified for the defense, saying the intense pressure of a shooting can create false memories for Raja.

After the shooting, Raja was fired by the department.

He's facing charges including attempted murder and could get life in prison if found guilty.
