Boy Scouts Welcome 8 Florida Girl Scouts

The Wellington, Florida all girls Scouts are excited the Boy Scouts of America opened their flagship scouting program to them.

On Feb. 1, the Boy Scouts of America changed its Boy Scouting program to reflect a policy change. They now welcome girls ages 11 to 17 years old. The decision followed when the organization received nationwide requests for an open door policy allowing transgender youth and girls.

The troop of 8 girls now plan to enjoy scuba diving, rappelling, mountain climbing, hiking, canoeing and other activities the 109-year organization has to offers.

Scouts BSA Troop 4125 meets weekly at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church.
