A Miami movie theater is offering locals a chance to show their support for Venezuela. The Silverspot Cinema on Southeast Third Street will show the Venezuela Aid Live concert at 11:00 this morning.
The concert, in Colombia, is being organized by British billionaire Richard Branson, who hopes to raise 100 million dollars to get humanitarian supplies to Venezuelans.
While Branson is hosts the #VenezuelaAidLive near Cúcuta in Colombia, Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro is apparently planning a rival #HandsOffVenezuela concert at the same time, just 300m away.
A local nonprofit says the Branson event is like the Latin Woodstock.
Vice President Mike Pence will travel to Colombia on Monday in an effort to keep pressure on neighboring Venezuela.
Pence is expected to repeat a call for Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to step aside.
The Trump administration has recognized opposition leader Juan Guaido as the legitimate leader of Venezuela. Pence will also meet with some refugees from Venezuela.
