No Bond For Man Suspected In Deadly South Beach Shooting

The man caught on surveillance camera shooting another man to death in South Beach is now behind bars without bond. 32-year-old Michael Alt surrenders without incident. He's being held on second-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm charges. His attorney Noel Flasterstein says he was jumped in a back alley by a man who tried to rob him-hitting him from behind with what he believed to be a knife. He says Alt acted in self-defense. Alt did not have a weapons permit. Police are not yet releasing the victim's name only saying he's a 33-year-old hispanic man well known in the area around 14th Street and Collins Avenue.
