School shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz is due back in court Thursday afternoon for a status hearing on his death penalty case.
The 20-year-old is scheduled to appear in Broward County Circuit Court. Defense interviews of witnesses and setting a tentative trial date are expected to be reviewed.
Cruz is accused of killing 17 people and wounding 17 others February 14th, 2018 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He is also facing charges for assaulting a jail corrections officer.
Cruz’s attorneys said, he will plead guilty in return for a life prison sentence.
