Miami City Leaders are Deciding Where Miami Forever Bond Money Goes

$192 million dollars allocated to sea level rise and flood protection projects was revisited on Tuesday. The Miami Forever Bond funds were approved by voters in 2017.

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez met and toured the city with the Chair of Global Commission on Adaption and the 8th Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki Moon. They discussed where to apply the money in order of necessity.

The meeting started before 10 a.m. with a trolley tour that departed from the Miami Downtown Development Authority. Planned stops included connecting with resilience and climate adaption experts.

The tour ends around 5 p.m at Miami Dade College with a panel discussion on climate adaptation.
