Miami Marlins Begin Spring Training

The Miami Marlins' first full squad work out officially started on President's Day. Veterans reported to the field Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter to motivate the 6-week attendees.

The Marlins are directing their focus towards another year rebuilding without a named star and hopefully strong prospects in our youth, said Michael Hill, the Marlins president of ballast operations.

Curtis Granderson, Neil Walker and Sergio Romo will provide a veteran presence for the prospects who, the Marlins hope, will eventually turn star plays of the franchise.
