A protester climbed a crane near FIU's main campus on President's Day. The man was spotted just before 8 a.m. displaying a large US flag and white banner with the words "Mr. President." The stunt was pulled hours before President Trump's scheduled arrival to speak at the campus on Southwest 109th Avenue and Tamiami Trail. He is expected to address the growing tensions in Venezuela.
Miami-Dade Police and a special response team responded to the scene.
The man surrendered to police at 10:40 a.m.
