Florida No Longer Shark Attack Capital of the World

A drop in the population of black tip sharks may be the reason Florida is no longer the "Shark Attack Capital of the World."

Researchers at the University of Florida say there was a big drop in the worldwide number of attacks.

There were 66 unprovoked bites in 2018 which is down from 88 the year before.

The International Shark Attack File counted 16 shark attacks in the state last year, down from 31 in 2017.
