The South Florida Muslim Federation is collecting food to distribute to government workers who are about to miss a second paycheck because of the government shutdown.
This afternoon, 100 food packages are being collected and delivered to the Coast Guard base in Miami.
To date, the Muslim group has spent more than 18-thousand-dollars helping to feed furloughed federal workers.
