Florida officials say a teenager on a cruise ship fell to his death after he lost his footing on the balcony of his room. The accident reportedly happened last week when the Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas was docked in Haiti.
The medical examiner's office in Fort Lauderdale says the victim was 16-year-old Laurent Mercer. Mercer apparently didn't have the key card to his room on the 8th floor, and slipped when he tried to climb in from the balcony of the next room.
The victim landed on the pier, and died of major head trauma.
