In a letter to the chairman of the state's School Safety Commission, Sheriff Israel noted that deputies and school resource officers have undergone additional training.
Israel says the Active Shooter policy has been changed...requiring deputies to engage any gunman.
Other changes include new threat assessments and access to the school district's live video feeds.
Israel called the reforms a 'midway point' as they continue their review.
