Fort Lauderdale police say they arrested an accused killer who triggered a SWAT standoff.
Thomas Smith was arrested before midnight Sunday on a second-degree murder charge.
He's accused of killing Jennifer Silva in her home on Southwest 4th Street.
Silva's murder triggered a SWAT standoff at the property when her body was found on November 28th.
Smith is making his first appearance in court today.
He allegedly murdered Silva on his 52nd birthday.
