Newspaper Probe Into Schools Finds Failure To Report Crimes

A new report says crimes taking place at Florida schools are often not being reported to the state.  The South Florida Sun-Sentinel looked at 27 thousand crime reports submitted to the Department of Education in the past decade compared to crime logs, school records, and news stories from that timeframe.  They found one in five schools fail to report a crime each year, on average.  Among those allegedly failing to report incidents were officials at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School before a former student shot 17 people there.
