Police in Southwest Miami-Dade arresting an 18 year old YMCA Counselor on a variety of sex charges after he's accused of blackmailing a teen boy for nude pictures on Snapchat. Cops say Joseph Garcia chatted online with the victim while posing as a 16-year-old girl. The conversations became sexually charged, and eventually led to threats of the victim's mother seeing the photos.
Authorities say the suspect told the victim if he agreed to a threesome, the photos would be deleted.
Undercover detectives arranged a meetup with the suspect and arrested him on a litany of charges including promoting the sexual performance of a child, possession of an image or video showing the sexual performance of a child, traveling to meet a minor for sex, extortion, possession of obscene material depicting a minor, and using a computer to misrepresent his age.
Garcia is being held on a $45,000 bond.
