Rabies Alert Lifted For Part of North Miami Beach

Some North Miami Beach residents can breath a sigh of relief.

Now that 60 days have past and no additional animals have tested positive for rabies, the health department has lifted the Rabies Alert for the area between Northeast 163rd and 151st Streets and Biscayne Boulevard to Northeast 14th Avenue.

The alert was issued on September 25th after a cat tested positive for the disease.

A second alert is set to expire in about two weeks for a nearby section of North Miami Beach:

NE 186th Street to the North,

Royal Glades Canal to the South,

West Dixie Hwy to the East,

NE 19th Avenue to the West

Rabies alerts remain in portions of Kendall and Palmetto Bay.
