Authorities have confirmed that a City of Miami firefighter was found dead inside a fire station early Wednesday morning.
The firefighter was found around 4:30 a.m. inside Station 14, according to officials, which is located off SW 19th Street and Coral Way.
According to authorities, after two of the three firefighters stationed inside responded to a call around that time, they went back inside and discovered the body of their male co-worker unconscious inside.
Lifesaving efforts were performed on the man, but were not successful.
Officials have not released the identity of the victim until next of kin is notified.
The station remains closed during the investigation by Miami Police as crews from nearby stations will work the area.
