A 14-year-old Weston student was airlifted to the hospital on Tuesday morning after authorities say he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle to school.
The incident happened around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Bonaventure Boulevard and Orchard Road, Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue officials said.
The teen was crossing the road, possibly on his way to Cypress Bay High School, when he was struck by a car.
According to authorities, that car was being driven by an adult woman.
The boy, who was believed to be not wearing a helmet, suffered a head injury and was airlifted to Memorial Regional Hospital in fair condition.
The driver stayed at the scene.
