Police are investigating after the driver and passenger of a Mercedes-Benz were shot Thursday afternoon in southwest Miami-Dade.
Miami-Dade police were called to a Tom Thumb gas station at 18400 SW 177th Ave., where two men were suffering from gunshot wounds.
The driver of the Mercedes-Benz was shot in the leg and the passenger was shot in the abdomen, according to authorities.
Officials say the incident took place about three miles away on a street between a field and a dragon fruit farm in the Redlands.
The men allegedly met with another man who opened fire at them. A witness then drove the wounded passenger to the gas station, while the other victim drove there in his Mercedes-Benz.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted the victim who was shot in the abdomen to Jackson South Medical Center.
Detectives were searching for the driver of a blue four-door Chrysler 300.
