A school teacher from Broward County is one of nine from across the country that is suing a company that collects student loans.
Westpine Middle School reading teacher Megan Nocerino is part of the lawsuit against Navient.
The plaintiffs argue that Navient misled borrowers who work in public service jobs about a federal loan forgiveness program.
Nocerino says she repeatedly asked Navient about a federal program that eliminates school loan debt for teachers, nurses, and first responders, only to be told she didn't qualify.
Nocerino owes more than $100,000 in loans she took for her master's and doctorate at Nova Southeastern University.
