Lee County Group Accused Of Cloning Credit Cards To Steal Fuel

Ten people are facing charges in Lee County, accused of using cloned credit cards to buy large amounts of fuel.

Deputies told WINK News in Fort Myers the suspects are part of an elaborate organization.

Investigators say the group cloned credit cards, bought large quantities of diesel fuel, then used vehicles equipped with extra, illegal fuel tanks to transport the fuel.

Deputies seized five vehicles used in the operation.

They say the group cloned more than 250 credit cards and used them to make about $20,000 in fraudulent charges.
