Former Miami-Dade Congressman Cleared In Lawsuit

It's case closed in the lawsuit against former Miami-Dade County Congressman David Rivera.

A federal judge has dismissed the Federal Election Commission's suit.  The FEC accused Rivera of making secret, illegal contributions to straw candidate Justin Lamar Sternad's campaign to try and undercut an opponent in the 2012 Congressional primary.

Sternad pleaded guilty, and so did one of Rivera's associates.

Rivera has never been criminally charged.
