A 60-day rabies alert is in place throughout Miami-Dade County.
Officials say that a cat that was not vaccinated recently had to be put down after it was infected by the disease.
Four people who were exposed to the cat are currently being treated.
The North Miami Beach area under the warning includes North East 163rd Street to the North to North East 151 Street to the South and Biscayne Blvd to the East to North East 14th Avenue to the West.
