Authorities say a Central Florida sheriff’s deputy shot and killed his wife before killing himself – all while their four children were inside the family’s home.
The incident occurred overnight in Land O’Lakes and involved a deputy from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, according to officials.
According to Pasco County Sheriff's deputies, authorities arrived at the home around midnight after receiving a 911 call from a teen that ran from the home.
Once inside, the deputy’s wife was found dead on a downstairs couch. According to authorities, the deputy was found upstairs dead of self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The three other children found inside the home were not hurt and did not witness the shootings, according to officials – who would not confirm their relationship to the adults involved.
Offiials added that there had been no previous 911 calls to the home and the deputy did not use his department-issued weapon in the incident.
