The meat supplier connected to a Publix meat recall is pulling more than 132,000 additional pounds of ground beef that may be contaminated with E. coli.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the new recall covers items packaged by Cargill Meat Solutions on June 21, 2018, and bear the EST. 86R establishment number.
Cargill sent the beef in question to companies that supply Publix with some of its meat products. The companies include Sterling Silver, Excel, Fire River Farms and Certified Angus Beef.
Earlier this summer, Publix recalled beef products produced by Cargill from all its stores.
In its newest recall notice, the USDA reports an investigation identified 17 illnesses and one death related to the original recall between July 5 and July 25, 2018.
