South Florida’s Economy is Hot & Getting Better

Your daily doses of nonsense in the media and my takes on them. Today's headline comes from the Sun Sentinel, Job outlook: Nearly 30 percent of South Florida employers plan to hire by year's end.

My Take: This is exciting for a few reasons. First the obvious. Good news is good news. But still better is that nationally the 4th quarter GDP growth was 2.9%. In Florida, we grew at 3.7% and South Florida’s tri-county area had the best growth in the state. That bodes especially well as the economy is growing north of 3% nationally and gaining momentum. There’s a lot to be excited about in South Florida as we head down the home stretch of 2018. Why would we want political change exactly?
