People in Palm Beach County are remembering actor and longtime resident Burt Reynolds.
The actor and former Florida State University football player died in Jupiter Thursday at the age of 82.
Michelle Hillery, the Deputy Film Commissioner for the Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission, knew Reynolds for more than 20 years. She said he was a special person who gave a lot of his time to the community and enjoyed teaching and mentoring.
More than a dozen people gathered at the park named after Reynolds in Jupiter Thursday night to remember him.
They observed a moment of silence in his memory.
Funeral details have not yet been released.
