Miami-Dade To Vote On Upcoming Year's Budget

Miami-Dade commissioners are bracing for a marathon session this evening when the public gets a chance to sound off on next year's proposed budget.

This year, the South Florida county is preparing to spend 20-million-dollars to help pay for school security and 15-million for a police tiger team that could quickly respond to a mass shooting.

The budget holds the line on taxes but increases some fees.

This afternoon's budget hearing starts at 5 p.m.
