Florida Gas Prices Drop As Labor Day Approaches

Gas prices in Florida are down as motorists prepare for the final holiday of the summer travel season.

Triple-A says declining demand and rising supplies have allowed prices at the pump to steadily slip lower as the Labor Day weekend approaches.

The current statewide average for a gallon of regular is two-dollars 73-cents, down three cents from a week ago.

The most expensive gas price averages in Florida are in Panama City at $2.85 and West Palm Beach-Boca Raton at $2.83.

The least expensive gas averages $2.66 in Tampa-St. Petersburg and Fort Myers-Cape Coral, and $2.67 in Orlando and Punta Gorda.
