A Miami Gardens officer gifted a young boy a bike after his was suddenly stolen outside of a retail store.
Police said the boy left his bike outside of the store to buy some last minute school supplies. When he returned minutes later, the bike was gone.
"Ofc. Tamayo was so moved after seeing him so upset that he dug into his own pockets and bought the young man a brand new bicycle," a Facebook post by the Miami Gardens Police Department read.
Turns out, the boy needed the bike to travel to and from school.
Thanks to Officer Tamayo's act of kindness, the boy now wants to be a police officer and help others when he grows up, the department said.
