Nationwide Prison Strike Aims For Extensive Reforms

A nationwide prison strike is set to begin Tuesday.

The strike is slated to last until September 9th, as inmates are looking for extensive prison reforms.  September 9th also marks the day back in 1971 that riots broke out at Attica.

Over 40 people died as authorities took back control of the New York prison.

During the strike, inmates across the country, including in South Florida, will not work and some will go on a hunger strike until prison conditions get better and prisoners receive a higher wage for work performed behind bars.
