The meter reader who found the body of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony in Orlando in 2008 is seeking to sue her mother for defamation.
Casey Anthony had suggested that Ray Kronk had something to do with her daughter's death.
Anthony was acquitted of Caylee's murder in 2011 and, since then, has filed for bankruptcy.
But Kronk's attorney argued at federal court in Tampa on Monday that the bankruptcy should not prevent her from being sued and the judge gave lawyers for both sides 45 days to submit written arguments.
