Miami School Will All Be Equipped With Officers For First Day Of Classes

Parents in Miami can be assured their child's school will be in compliance with a new state law.

The Miami police chief announced on Thursday that all schools will have officers present throughout the first day of class on Monday.

Outside the city, though, the Miami Herald reports there are still about 30 schools in Miami-Dade County that will not have officers.

A law passed after the Parkland shooting requires all schools to have armed security on campus.
