Florida Student Arrested For Making Online Threat Against School

Authorities say a 17-year-old boy is in custody, accused of making an online threat toward an Indian River County school.

Indian River County deputies told WPTV-TV in West Palm Beach that the boy posted a threat against Sebastian River High School on social media around midnight. Investigators say the boy lives in Hernando County, but is a former Indian River County student.

He hasn't attended school in Indian River County since 2015.

Investigators say Hernando County deputies helped with taking the boy into custody.

Classes at Sebastian River High were not impacted.

Charges are pending in the case.
