As of Friday morning, there are nearly 150 new U.S. citizens that have made their way into the country via South Florida.
The men and women from 33 countries are taking the Oath of Allegiance this morning during a special naturalization ceremony at the Citizenship and Immigration Services building in Miami. That ceremony begins at 11 a.m.
The celebration comes as the government grapples with overhauling our immigration system.
