Red Tide Is Here To Stay, SW Florida Regional Planning Council Expert Says

An unnaturally long Red Tide could stick around the Gulf Coast of Florida for a good while longer.

That's the opinion of Jim Beever with the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council.

This is believed to be the longest-lasting and most impactful Red Tide in more than a decade, and Beever expects it'll be months before it disappears.

He tells the Naples Daily News we'll have to wait for the dry season when the rain stops and the water cools before we see relief.
