A NASA spacecraft will be sunward-bound after a weekend launch from Florida's Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
The Parker Solar Probe is scheduled for liftoff atop a United Launch Alliance Delta Four Heavy Rocket at 3:33 a.m. Eastern time on Saturday.
The probe is designed to study the Sun by coming eight times closer to its surface than any other previous spacecraft.
Astrophysicists are hoping it will answer questions regarding the Sun's mysterious corona and solar wind.
