U.S. Senators Call For Investigation Of Florida SunPass Mishaps

Two U.S. Senators are calling on the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the company blamed for mismanaging Florida's SunPass and electronic toll systems in six other states.

Conduent has been accused of billing customers for inaccurate toll charges, late fees and penalties.

Senators Bill Nelson (of Florida) and Gary Peters of Michigan say if drivers are being hurt financially, the FTC should hold the vendor accountable and prevent it from doing further harm.

Earlier this month, the Florida Department of Transportation announced it would suspend contract payments for Conduent after it botched a $287-million upgrade of the SunPass system.
