Broward Non-Profit Seeks School Supplies

As the back to school rush begins, a non-profit in Broward County is collecting school supplies to help kids in need.

The Broward Education Foundation is looking for the basics, pink erasers, composition books, pens, pencils, notebook paper, crayons and markers.

Shea Ciriago with the Broward Education Foundation says the supplies go to their storefront where teachers can shop for their students.

"We do it this way because we feel and teachers tell us, they're the ones that know specifically what those students in their classroom need to be successful," said Shea Ciriago, executive director of Broward Education Foundation.

The Broward Education Foundation is the same group who helped raise millions for Stoneman Douglas shooting victims' and their families.  Monetary donations are also accepted for their school supply drive.
