Florida-Bound Flight Diverted Due To Chemical Odors On Plane

A Spirit Airlines plane bound for South Florida from New York was Thursday evening after a chemical odor was noticed on board.

Officials say up to 10 people received medical help following the incident.

Spirit Airlines said Flight 779 left LaGuardia in New York City around 8:30 p.m. Thursday headed to Fort Lauderdale.

The flight was diverted to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, around 10 p.m.
