Lawmaker Calls For Investigation Of Putnam, Concealed Weapons Permits

Democrats are piling on Republican candidate for governor Adam Putnam over the issue of guns.

One year ago, the Agriculture Commissioner described himself as a "proud NRA sellout."

But State Representative Janet Cruz of Tampa says it was Putnam's office that issued almost 300 concealed weapon permits to people who didn't pass the background check.

Although the Agriculture Department investigated the snafu and claimed it's been fixed, Cruz says it smells like a cover up and she wants the governor to appoint an outside investigator.
